Grégoire Besson strengthens its position in the UK's agricultural sector with two new Scottish partners

Lincolnshire-based Grégoire Besson UK has announced the extension of its franchise with the first two Scottish dealerships to sell its range of cultivation machinery. Leading agricultural machinery dealerships, Ross Agri Services and the Reekie Group, will bring Grégoire Besson’s full range of ploughs, disc harrows, tined cultivators and tillage equipment to the Scottish marketplace.

Ross Agri Services is a leading supplier of new and used tractors and machinery, with depots in St Cyrus and Turriff, Aberdeenshire, employing 30 members of staff. The family-run business was established in 1972 and also specialises in precision engineering, and welding and fabrication for the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen.

Martin Ross, partner at Ross Agri Services, explains the decision to work with Grégoire Besson: “We were very impressed by the support of Grégoire Besson UK and we recognise that the brand is synonymous with strong, quality machinery and equipment - something our customers value greatly. We look forward to working with Grégoire Besson and expanding the range of products available to our customer base.”

The Reekie Group has been in business for over 65 years throughout central Scotland and the Borders. Employing 46 people, the company prides itself on its first class customer support and after sales service and offering the very best in agricultural and material handling equipment.

Sam Mercer of the Reekie Group comments, “We agreed to take the Grégoire Besson franchise on after a successful trial demonstration that generated some very positive feedback. Since taking on the franchise we have had a lot of interest in the Grégoire Besson range of ploughing equipment, and we are now preparing quotes for after harvest and winter equipment. We have also seen a growing interest in Grégoire Besson’s combi-mix cultivator plus its range of discs.”

Managing Director of Grégoire Besson UK said, “Our Scottish franchise partners, Ross Agri Services and the Reekie Group are independent businesses which are well attuned to their local markets. Both have excellent reputations for customer service and are very successful in building long-standing relationships within their communities. This will allow us to draw on their agility, entrepreneurial spirit and local expertise, and offer our high-quality agricultural machinery to the Scottish market. Their proven success will play a valuable role in our own development as we strengthen our ties with our customers and continue to grow.”

Grégoire Besson is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery. Backed by 200 years of experience the company, which is headquartered in France, has seen steady growth. Its extensive range of products which suit a variety of applications, proved to be crucial in attracting Ross Agri Services and the Reekie Group to take up the franchise opportunity.
